【摘要】:1.1Thisguidedescribesandcomparesdifferentmethodsforassessingthepotentialfor,orexistenceof,depressurization-inducedbackdraftingandspillagefromventedresidentialcombustionappliances.1.2Assessmentofdepressurization-inducedbackdraftingandspillageisconductedundereitherinduceddepressurizationornaturalconditions.1.3Residentialventedcombustionappliancesaddressedinthisguideincludehotwaterheatersandfurnace.Theguidealsoisapplicabletoboilers.1.4ThemethodsgiveninthisguideareapplicabletoCategoryI(draft-hood-andinduced-fan-equipped)furnaces.TheguidedoesnotapplytoCategoryIII(power-vent-equipped)orCategoryIV(direct-vent)furnaces.1.5Themethodsinthisguidearenotintendedtoidentifybackdraftingorspillageduetoventblockageorheat-exchangerleakage.1.6Thisguideisnotintendedtoprovideabasisfordeterminingcompliancewithcoderequirementsonapplianceandventinginstallation,butdoesincludeavisualassessmentoftheinstallation.Thisassessmentmayindicatetheneedforathoroughinspectionbyaqualifiedtechnician.1.7Usersofthemethodsinthisguideshouldbefamiliarwithcombustionapplianceoperationandwithmakinghouse-tightnessmeasurementsusingablowerdoor.Somemethodsdescribedinthisguiderequirefamiliaritywithdifferential-pressuremeasurementsanduseofcomputer-baseddata-loggingequipment.Thisguidedoesnotpurporttoaddressallsafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Carbonmonoxide(CO)exposureorflameroll-outmayoccurwhenperformingcertainproceduresgiveninthisguide.SeeSection,forprecautionsthatmustbetakeninconductingsuchprocedures.
