【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesgeneralrequirements,typetestsandindividualtestsformarineelectromag-neticcompassesintendedforsteeringpurposesand/ortakingbearingsonboardshipsrequiredbyChapterVofSO-LAS,1974andtheInternationalCodeofSafetyforHigh-SpeedCraft(HSCCode).Themagneticcompassesspecifiedinthisstandardshallapplytotheshipstheoveralllengthofwhichisnormallynotlessthan24m.Inthiscontextanelectromagneticcompassisanitemofelectronicequipmentwhichusesthegeomagneticfieldtoobtaininformationabouttheship'sheading.Thisinformationisconveyedtothemaincompass(whichisusedforsteeringandtakingbearings),toadditionalrepeaterindicatorsand,ifrequired,toothernavigationalequipment.NOTEAllrequirementsthatareextractedfromtherecommendationsofIMOresolutionsareprintedinitalics.
